Just a little update from me!

Just a little update from me! Training is ramping up steadily - I've been going to CrossFit classes to build my strength and overall endurance, and more frequent short rides are sharpening the legs for the long journey ahead. Each pedal stroke feels a little stronger, especially when moving off from the lights (I do stop at red lights, honest!) Even better? The generosity of early sponsors has already moved this campaign past 25% of the target! Your support means the world and pushes me forward with every session and every ride. There’s still a long road ahead, but with this momentum, we’re making a real impact. Let’s keep it rolling! https://www.justgiving.com/page/dave-ross-1

Cycling for Change: Preventing Mother & Infant Mortality

🚴‍♂️ Cycling for Change: Preventing Mother & Infant Mortality 🌍✨  In 2025 too many mothers and newborns still face life-threatening challenges due to inadequate access to medical care and information. But this is a solvable problem!  I’m taking on the Ride Africa cycling challenge this year to raise funds for Child.org , a fantastic charity based in Kenya which provides women with essential healthcare information, post-natal support, and health education infrastructure - giving mothers the best possible chance to safely welcome their babies into the world. Every kilometre I ride represents a step toward saving lives. If you believe in making a difference, I invite you to support this mission. Your sponsorship can help transform healthcare access and ensure safer futures for families who need it most. And simply by sharing with your networks you can help raise awareness of this cause. 📢 Join me—donate today! https://www.justgiving.com/page/dave-ross-1   (Every sing...

Welcome to Pedal Powered Stories

Welcome to Pedal Powered Stories 🚴‍♂️✨ Thanks for stopping by! This blog is where I’ll be sharing the journey of my cycling adventures - starting with Ride Africa 2025 , a five-day endurance challenge in Kenya to raise funds for the brilliant charity Child.org . Why Pedal Powered Stories ? Because every ride tells a story. From early morning training sessions in the drizzle, to the long miles on the road, to the incredible people I’ll meet along the way - this is where I’ll capture it all. But most importantly, these stories aren’t just about me. They’re about the impact we can create together. Child.org works to improve maternal and child health in Kenya, running pregnancy support groups, training health volunteers, and making sure mums and babies get the care they need. Every mile I ride, and every post I share here, is part of that bigger mission. Over the coming weeks you’ll find: Updates on training, fundraising, and preparation. Stories from the road in Kenya this November...
